Events at the Merchants

Although winter is upon us and the fairways aren't quite as enticing as they were it doesn't mean that things are quiet at the Clubhouse - in fact it's quite the reverse!

Here are a few of the events that are coming up over the next month or so - hopefully there is something for everyone so why not make a reservation or buy a ticket for a great value evening out - more information is available for each event by calling the club on 0131-447-1219 (either the Secretary or Bar option) or by e mailing admin@merchantsgolf.com

Gents Prize Giving Dinner - 23^rd November

Some tickets are still available although the sheet's filling up fast - this is an evening to celebrate last year's successes or simply to congratulate a friend on his achievements. The dinner is an ideal way to end the season and enjoy a meal and drinks with fellow members. Tickets are £17.50 and are available behind the bar - this year's speaker is our own Jeff White.

Children's Christmas Party - Sunday 9^th December

Tickets are on sale now for this traditional Merchants event for members' (and their relatives') children age 3 - 10 years. The fun starts at 3pm and the ticket price of £6 includes party food, puppets, games and magic supplied by Scott Lovat, (not to mention a visit from the man himself Santa Claus - please bring a wrapped present - Max £15). Tickets are available behind the bar.

Xmas Draw and Party night - Saturday 15^th December

An informal evening when tremendous prizes can be won - select your lucky numbers on the board displayed at the entrance to the lounge and you can of course buy more on the night. This year, thanks to our excellent new caterers, supper is available during the evening - choose either home made Coq au Vin or Beef Bourguinon served with rustic bread and green salad - as always a great range of wines are also available. Supper is £7.50 payable on the night but if you've "had your tea" there's no charge for just coming along.

Christmas Lunches and Dinners

In the run up to the big day itself the club is once again offering members and guests great value Festive dining - whether you are looking for a Christmas Lunch or an evening dinner with friends, colleagues or the family the Merchants is an ideal and affordable option - reservations can be made by calling the club number 0131-447-1219 or in person at the bar. Lunches and dinners are available from the 13^th December until the 22^nd December - Special Christmas menus are on display in the clubhouse.

Xmas Day

Why worry about all the preparation and the washing up when someone else can take the strain? A relaxed and comfortable venue for your family Christmas Day Lunch with one of the best views in Edinburgh - again, bookings by phone or at the bar - Special Christmas Day menu on display in the Clubhouse.

The Guinea Lunch

Finally, you should all by now have received through the post details about Harbour View Hospitality - our superb new catering service. Bookings are still available for the "Guinea Lunch" throughout November so if you haven't yet taken advantage of this great offer (which must be one of the best dining deals in Edinburgh) give us a call now and make a reservation.
