Council has approved the
following:-

MONDAY 21st OCTOBER 2002 UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE 1.
Preferred lies on all fairways 2.
Preferred lie in the rough when playing the 2nd and 13th
holes. IN
ADDITION, FROM SATURDAY 26th OCTOBER UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE 3. If a ball lands on any part of a fairway contained within the area marked by yellow marker stakes – lift and place to either side without penalty. Alternatively, play from the nearest fairway mat provided at the 8th and 16th holes. TOP The Council wish to advise all Members that Mr. George McBeath has demitted his position as Voluntary Course Ranger. Mr. W Douglas Steven has agreed to serve in this capacity. Mr. Steven will be readily identified on the Course wearing his highly visible armband. His responsibilities are to ensure that all visitors have paid a green fee prior to play and that all members and guests observe the common courtesies of golf, which the membership is entitled to expect. TOP Members are invited to set up a monthly Standing Order for £10, 50% to go towards updating course equipment and 50% into monthly and six monthly draws. Details were sent out with Subscription Notices and entry forms are available in the foyer of the Clubhouse. Full entries closed on 30th April, 2002 and the first monthly draw will take place in May, 2002. However, you can still enter at any time for future months but you would win a reduced prize if successful in the six monthly draw. TOP As part of efforts to combat slow play, the club has indicated that suggested maximum round times should be as follows:- 2 Ball - 2 hours 50 minutes, 3 Ball - 3 hours 10 minutes, 4 Ball - 3 hours 20 minutes. TOP COURSE UPDATE - PLANTING OF TREES AS MARKERS Greenkeeping staff have planted Columbus Yew Trees as yardage markers 150 yards from the centre of the green at the 4th, 6th, 8th, 9th, 14th and 16th holes.
